Since being called to the Bar in 2006, Shawn has practiced as a commercial litigator in both Ontario and New York State, and has assisted a wide variety of clients at various levels of Provincial, State and Federal Courts.  He has extensive experience advocating for clients in real estate matters, breach of contract disputes, and other commercial conflicts.  In 2021, Shawn earned the designation of Qualified Mediator from the ADR Institute of Canada.  This designation is granted to those individuals who meet nationally set standards for mediation training and experience.

Shawn's belief that most parties would benefit from the early intervention of a mediator led to his establishment of Tock Dispute Resolution.  He recognizes that litigation is frequently an expensive and time consuming process, and as a mediator, he encourages parties to reach cost effective and logical resolutions to their disputes.

Shawn's experience as an advocate informs his mediation style and he brings a practical view to his efforts assist parties to resolve their disputes.
